Feelings become things

To have control over the mind is something that fascinates me. I know the deep power of the mind and it is not something to take lightly. We create a world in our mind that becomes our reality. Are we open to new ideas? Are we closed off and live in the comfort of what we know? Do we take risks for what we believe? Do we live right on the edge of greatness always scared to step into our own light? I believe we are gifted with challenges in life, when we find ways to move through them we grow in character, personality, wisdom and courage. This is the juicy stuff that I love. This is the part that feels uncomfortable during the process but the rewards are absolutely beyond your imagination. We always have a choice to choose the thoughts we dwell on at any point in time. If you believe we are what we eat, do you believe that we are what we think too? Guarding our mind could be one of the most important things to live a balanced life. Keep reality in check and keep moving forward with hope and trust in yourself.
Does it really matter what others think of you? Do you feel strength when you step into your full self and fill the room with your presence? Why apologize for being fabulous? Why be less than just to keep everything in order? What if you shook things up and took that risk with yourself and explore everything it means to be human…I know I’m getting really deep and meaningful here!…but…seriously… How would it feel to let go of your tight rope just a little…give yourself some breathing room…wow…what could happen? ;)

love deeply,
Dinah

  1. A friend sent a link to your art and I found my way to your blog. Interesting post and one that reveals that there is a great deal going on inside of you. What else would you expect from a talented artist. But what if you were to take the opposite tack? What if rather than being fabulous you chose to be simple? What if the journey to truly finding yourself and understanding what it truly means to be human takes place in silence and alone? In many if not all cases true growth takes place in a silent place. Perhaps it is the realization that we are always centered with the ground beneath us and the air above if we only truly choose to exist in the moment. Breathe the air, taste the scent and just be. What if we are right all along and it is only the mirage that there is something more. Remember Dinah, “No matter where you go, there you are.” – Buckaroo Banzai

PS: You can’t please everyone so why try?

  2. Beautifully put Devin. Thank you. I hear what you are saying and I believe in a balance. One would not recognize silence if there was no noise. Correct? We need both to fully BE. :)

  3. Dinah,
Great post! I have been working on this for a number of years now and, as I am sure you know, it takes a great deal of effort, patience, and awareness to get “good” at this.
It always amazes me to see how we can get drowned in our thoughts and lose touch with presence altogether.

Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
