Feelings become things

To have control over the mind is something that fascinates me. I know the deep power of the mind and it is not something to take lightly. We create a world in our mind that becomes our reality. Are we open to new ideas? Are we closed off and live in the comfort of what we know? Do we take risks for what we believe? Do we live right on the edge of greatness always scared to step into our own light? I believe we are gifted with challenges in life, when we find ways to move through them we grow in character, personality, wisdom and courage. This is the juicy stuff that I love. This is the part that feels uncomfortable during the process but the rewards are absolutely beyond your imagination. We always have a choice to choose the thoughts we dwell on at any point in time. If you believe we are what we eat, do you believe that we are what we think too? Guarding our mind could be one of the most important things to live a balanced life. Keep reality in check and keep moving forward with hope and trust in yourself.
Does it really matter what others think of you? Do you feel strength when you step into your full self and fill the room with your presence? Why apologize for being fabulous? Why be less than just to keep everything in order? What if you shook things up and took that risk with yourself and explore everything it means to be human…I know I’m getting really deep and meaningful here!…but…seriously… How would it feel to let go of your tight rope just a little…give yourself some breathing room…wow…what could happen? ;)

love deeply,

2009 coming to a close

WOW! It is December already and almost the end of a decade! So much has happened over the last year let alone the last 10 years of my life and as I sit here contemplating how the next 10 years will look like, I feel something I have not felt in a long time…The best way to describe this feeling is with a metaphor.

Imagine a beautiful boat setting out on a voyage on the big blue SCARY ocean, this boat just picked up one day and set sail without really preparing with all the necessary supplies needed for this long trip. Along the way the boat haphazardly discovered new lands and began to accumulate things from each stopping point. It began to feel fuller and more equiped to handle the tough scary ocean and as it did, the ocean began to soften its waves and if you listened really closely there was a rhythm, a hum in the ocean’s very core…it began to work with the boat to get it to wherever the little boat desired to go.

I feel like the little boat at a point where it has anchored, I am taking a break from all the wonderings and now I pause to enjoy and savor all the riches I’ve accumulated. I’m soaking in all the beautiful lessons and trials that I’ve faced and conquered. I rest now until I am ready to lift that anchor and set out again to bigger yet perhaps gentler waters, however NOW fully equiped to handle the worst storms and the biggest waves that come my way.

I welcome the next year and the next decade with open arms, great strength and true love. I am so thankful for the little boat that got me here and have the deepest faith that this vessel will carry me to even more exciting adventures beyond my imagination.

“Transient Beauty” My Debut Dallas Art Show!

Gallery Owner Kristi Cameron

Gallery Owner Kristi Cameron

I just had my debut art show in Dallas and it was great! The Cameron Gallery is an eclectic and unique place to have a show and it was beautiful. Thank you to everyone who came and saw the show and took interest in my work. I have to say the whole evening was a blur. All I remember was driving up to the gallery with my girlfriends and then once I entered poof I was on cloud nine.  It took me about a week to process and absorb it all. Now I am refreshed and ready for the next step to getting my work out there and in your homes!

A Woman of Two Worlds

As Star Trek’s Spock struggled to find his balance between his Vulcan and his human roots he soon found out that he could not live as just one or the other but rather grew to embrace both worlds.

As odd as this may sound, I identify with Spock! I was born in London and grew up in the Arabian Gulf and Europe. My Middle Eastern cultural roots are strong and are present in my daily life from the kind of coffee I drink to the clothes I wear!  I am at a point in my life where I LOVE being a mix of different cultures and thoughts. I have been able to travel and experience rich and beautiful lands from a very young age.  I was almost born on an aeroplane mid-flight so I definitely have it in my blood! Here are a few of my favorite things…
